Text on the canvas. Typography in the inspector. Product illustration.
Add and edit text
Choose the Text tool in the toolbar under the canvas. Click to type, or drag to draw a paragraph box.
Double-click a text layer on the canvas to edit its words.
Select the layer to show its text settings in the inspector.
Use a text box for a paragraph or multiline heading. Its width controls where the text wraps.
Fonts, size and spacing
Choose a font, then set its Weight and Size. Line height changes the space between lines; Letter spacing changes the space between letters. Use the colour swatch to change the text colour.
The case menu switches between uppercase, lowercase and title case. The formatting buttons apply italic, underline or strikethrough.
Text alignment
Under Text alignment, choose left, centre or right to align the lines within your text. This is useful for centring a multiline headline or lining up a paragraph.
To line up the text layer with other objects, use object alignment instead.
Advanced text and appearance
Open Advanced text for kerning, ligatures, small caps, stylistic alternates and curved text. Font features depend on the chosen typeface. Curved text is available for text without a text box.
Open Appearance for gradient fills and strokes. Use Transform for the layer’s position and size.
Bring a picture into the mix. Crop, resize and adjust it, or keep it as a quiet reference while you draw.

Import an image
Use Import image in the canvas toolbar, or drop a file onto the canvas. PNG, JPEG and WebP images become image layers; SVG artwork is imported as vector artwork.
Select the image to see its layout and appearance controls. Drag it to reposition it, or enter its dimensions for a precise size.
Crop, resize and fade
Select an image and choose Crop image. Adjust the crop and apply it. Logod keeps the original image so you can revisit the crop later.
Change Width or Height to scale the image proportionally. Original size returns it to one image pixel per document pixel, keeping the crop. Lower Opacity to fade it into the artwork.
Adjust the image
With an unlocked image selected, use the Image menu for Brightness, Contrast, Auto Contrast, Black & White and Colour Key. Colour Key makes a chosen colour transparent; it is useful for a simple, flat background.
Reset adjustments returns these settings to their defaults. Drop Shadow and Outer Glow are also available from the Image menu for eligible selected layers.
Use an image as a reference
Open the image import options and import a guide image. Reduce its opacity, resize it and lock it in Layers to draw over it without moving it.

A few shapes are all it takes to start a visual language. Product illustration.
Add and style a shape
Choose a shape from the toolbar and place it on the canvas. Select it to change its dimensions, fill and stroke in the inspector. The line and pen tools let you build lines and custom paths.
Choose a solid or gradient fill. The stroke controls set the outline’s colour and width. For shapes with corner controls, increase Corner radius to soften the edges.
Move, resize and rotate
Drag a selected shape to move it, or use the inspector’s position and size fields for exact values. Use the canvas resize handles to change its size. Transform controls also let you rotate and flip the selection.
Where available, enable Constrain proportions to keep the width and height in step. The scale origin chooses the fixed reference point for numeric size changes.
Align objects and distribute spacing
Select at least two visible, unlocked layers.
Use the alignment controls in the inspector or at the bottom of Layers.
Choose left, horizontal centre, right, top, vertical centre or bottom to line up the selection.
Select at least three eligible objects to use the inspector’s distribution controls for even spacing. These controls work with text, shapes and other eligible layers. To align the lines inside a text layer, use text alignment.
Combine shapes
Select compatible shapes, then use the controls beneath the Layers list. Union combines filled shapes into one; Intersect keeps their shared area; Punch subtracts the top shape from the bottom shape.
These actions replace the source shapes with the result. Use Undo to return to the separate shapes.
Every piece of artwork has a place. Find it, name it, put it in order, and keep the busy bits under control.

One artboard. Just its layers.
The Layers tab lives in the workspace panel on the right. Product illustration.
Select and reorder layers
Open Layers in the right-hand workspace panel. Click a row to select its artwork. Use Shift to add layers to your selection.
Drag rows to change their stacking order. Artwork higher in the list appears in front of artwork lower in the list. Use clear names so the right piece is easy to find.
Rename, hide and lock
Double-click a layer name to rename it. Use its visibility control to hide or show it, and its lock control to protect it from accidental edits.
Groups keep related artwork together. Expand a group to reach its members, or work with the whole group. Layer colour labels help distinguish parts of a larger design.
See the layers for an artboard
When you work on an artboard, the Layers palette can show just its contents. Use the Layers dropdown to switch to another artboard, All layers, or Outside artboards.
Make it once. Reach for it again. Keep your favourite logos, symbols and groups ready for the next canvas.

Save artwork as an asset
Select the artwork you want to reuse, such as a logo or group.
Open Assets in the workspace panel.
Enter a name in Name selected artwork… and choose Save.
The asset appears with a preview in your library.
Find, insert and manage assets
Use Search assets to filter by name. Click a preview to insert it, or drag it onto the canvas in any document.
Edit the name beneath a preview to rename it. Remove deletes an entry from the library; the Undo option shown afterwards restores the removed asset.
Where assets are stored
Assets are stored on this device. A browser library belongs to that browser’s storage and site address. Do not expect the library to appear automatically on another device or in a different browser.
Keep important artwork in your saved project files as well as the asset library.

Create an artboard
Open Artboards, choose a preset and select Add. Presets include Desktop (1440 × 900), Mobile (390 × 844), Logo (512 × 512) and Business card (85 × 55 mm).
Already have artwork? Select it and choose Artboard from selection to create an artboard around it. You can keep up to 20 artboards in a document.
Set the size and background
Click an artboard in the panel to focus it. Edit its name, X/Y position, W/H dimensions and background. Business card width and height are shown in millimetres.
Drag an edge or corner on the canvas to resize it. Resizing an artboard keeps the artwork in place; adjust the layout yourself to fit the new size. Choose View layers to jump to its contents in Layers.
Export and remove artboards
Choose Export on a selected artboard to export that area, or Export all artboards as PNG ZIP to get separate PNG files together. Export React webpage… opens the web export options.
Business card PDF export defaults to 300 DPI and CMYK. Review the PDF options for print settings such as crop marks and bleed.
Remove artboard · keep artwork removes the artboard boundary while leaving its artwork on the canvas.

Captured colours and type styles, ready to apply. Product illustration.
Create your own brand and swatches
Open Brand, choose Create brand, enter a name and choose Save brand. No website capture or imported file is required.
Choose Add colour, pick a colour, optionally name the swatch and choose its group, then click Save colour. Previewing colours does not add every adjustment to recent swatches. The colour is remembered when it is saved.
Use Manage colours to edit or remove swatches. Removed colours can be restored with Undo colour removal. Your brands are saved on this device and remain available in new documents.
Capture and import a brand
Capture a website using Logod Brand Capture in Chrome. In Logod’s Brand tab, choose Import brand or drop the resulting .logodbrand file onto the app.
Choose a saved brand from the dropdown to see its source, colours, font families and typography styles. Imported brands are saved on this device.
Apply brand colours
Select eligible artwork, choose Apply as fill or Apply as stroke, then click a colour swatch. Colours are grouped by their use. Matching swatches show a blue outline and tick as you select artwork; the highlight follows the fill or stroke mode.
Choose Save colours as palette to make up to 24 distinct colours available in the colour picker’s palettes. Select artwork first if the apply controls are disabled.
Reuse typography
Search the typography list by role, font or sample text. Select a text layer and choose Apply to text to apply a style, or choose Add text to create a new layer with it.
Export a brand or guideline sheet
Export brand saves a .logodbrand file that can be imported again. Guideline sheet exports an HTML reference for the captured brand. Use these to keep a portable copy of your brand information.
Try the other colour. Move it a little further. Your recent edits are there to step back through while you explore.

Actions are labelled so you can recognise changes such as Move, Resize, Fill colour or Edit text.
Jump to an earlier step
Click a step in the History list to return directly to that point. The current step is marked; later steps remain available to redo until you make a new edit.
Edit history and saved versions
The History section tracks changes in your editing session. Save your document to preserve the design; the undo timeline is not a permanent archive of saved files.
For cloud documents, the separate Version history dialog keeps the last 20 saved versions. Restoring a version keeps a copy of the current saved version. This saved-version feature is separate from the workspace’s edit timeline.
